Sheesh
4.5
Overall
A dramatic Turkish restaurant in Mayfair with a grand, almost palace-like interior. Candles, chandeliers, indoor trees and stone floors run throughout the space. Tables are fairly well spaced, but the hard surfaces carry sound easily across the room. Music is noticeable from arrival and crowd noise builds quickly as the evening goes on. By peak time, conversation requires leaning in. Later in the night, a DJ or live music can shift the atmosphere towards something closer to a club setting.

"When we were there, a DJ started late in the evening and the volume went up significantly. Conversation became impossible at that point. It had shifted into club territory entirely. May vary on different nights but worth checking before you book a long evening."
"Music was noticeable from arrival, and crowd noise built quickly after. Stone floors and high ceilings carry sound everywhere. Could not hear the people sitting directly opposite me at all. Stunning room, but not one for a quiet dinner."
